The locomotive fleet of the NYHR (and the other ones in my fleet) is diesel/electric in origin, to reflect several factors; the 'revolutionary' nature of diesel traction, the 'quiet' and 'urban friendly' electric traction; it also helps that the Kaufman Act restricting the use of steam engines.
The steam fleet is used away from the NYHR display, although that wouldn't preclude some "what if" scenarios or re-use for photoshoots...
